Remember remember the 10th of May…
10th May 1980: Sir Trev does for Arsenal.

10th May 2016: last game at the Boleyn.

Two of our greatest games - what are your memories of either, or both?

I watched them on TV and loudly celebrated both goals and both final whistles.

The drive to the stadium was crazy. Remember crossing the lights by statue and Boleyn in middle of the road then half up pavement on green street.

Atmosphere was electric. One of the best nights / football matches / occasions ever experienced.

Day of the final I was flying back from my job on a cruise line in the Caribbean and had pre arranged a Gooner mate to pick me up from Heathrow, he knew the result and I didn't. Anyway I thought he might have fucked off and left me there.

Last game at the Boleyn couldn't get a ticket so me and joe royal went up the Black Lion and watched the game there.

Perfect result both days.

I was 11. my Dad took me to the FA Cup FInal. I'd never seen so many people in one place. I was dressed head to toe in Claret & Blue. I remember my Dad tying to bring in a couple of cans of coke and a copper took it off him.

It was blazing hot.

What a day!

1980 I was 12 yrs old & living in Sweden so the Cup Final unfortunately was not shown on TV but my Spurs dad delightedly informed me of the score ;
Arsenal 0....West Ham 1 !!
He loved that moment.
I then proceeded to draw the whole Cup wining team which got published in Shoot Magazine a year later :P

I was again in Sweden for the Manc game but what a season that was. Emotional zoom ins on Noble and THAT header to win it. Would have loved to have been there.

My Swedish daughter's birthday is 10th May and of course she is a HAMMER !!

Re: Remember remember the 10th of May…
I was 13 when we won the FA Cup, and as Trevor scored in the 13th minute I was convinced there was a link! As we'd also won in 1975 I was expecting more great things in 1985 and 1990...

There's a re-run of the goals from the Man Utd game on Instagram (and it's still available on Sky Sports) - what strikes me is how good the passing, crossing and movement is. Cresswell does a great ball into Lanzini as he darts into the box, who then picks out Sakho with a great cross. Then Monsieur Payet for the other two was just sublime.

I also remember the taxis and Paolo's suit, as he stood quite near to us on the pitch. I think he was in the spot where he scored his goal versus Wimbledon from.

What a great night that was.

I too was at both. Totally wankered for the cup final and can barely remember any of the day at all.

Last game at the Boleyn; I’d already thrown my season ticket away the season before in total frustration at how we played. Big and costly mistake that! Ended up paying a tout £400 for a ticket in the Manc end. Stood on the seat to sing bubbles surrounded by those northern monkeys but also glad to see a fair few others in their end. Was right next to the chicken run and had the time of my life. Tbf it o the Mancs they took the loss well that day.

I remember having my voucher from Fulham at home and queuing up with my mates on the Sunday morning along that big old brick wall by the gates, to get my final ticket, then in the Boleyn to watch the strippers, the day itself , don’t think anyone really thought we would win ,which made it even better. ,l have two grown up children and l often tell my daughter my two greatest days are when my son was born and when West Ham won the cup !

Last game at the Boleyn was perfect. The build up, the opposition, the result, the occasion, the aftermath. Only negative was the rain for the ceremony, but it was a beautiful night on several levels.
